| How does VoIP work? |
|
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is surprisingly easy to understand. If you've never heard of VoIP, get ready to change the way you think about phone calls. VoIP is a method for taking analogue audio signals, the kind you hear when you talk on the phone, and turning them into digital data that can be transmitted over the Internet.
Each customer's requirements are looked at individually and a solution is presented that, more often than not, exceeds their requirements and expectations. It would be impossible for us to show examples of every perceivable variation but rest assured that VosTel look after your needs, whether that be from a single line, home office installation right up to a large multi-national, multi-branch business.
Why Are Calls Free? Calls that are transferred between VosTel users are free because the call is carried within the VosTel platform the lovely people at VosTel don't charge for this.
What If The Recipient Isn't A VosTel User? If the user calls a non-VoIP enabled number the call is handled in much the same way until the point it is routed by our server, as it cannot send the call via our server (recipient is not a VosTel user) the call then is outsourced to our internet telephony carrier who 'deliver' the call to the recipient. This has a cost attached although it is generally much lower than call charges applied by major service providers, see our Cost Savings page for a more detailed look at pricing. |
